Last year's event was excellent, and I was surprised when I didn't have to pay anything. I can't remember now if there were collections, but if there were I know I had some money to throw in there.

$100 is a decent price for an even this big. I hope that the organisers are still getting sponsorship and don't get 'lazy' depending on ticket sales. I also hope the caliber of attendees remains high, given that there is no longer a registration process.
I sound like a snob! -But chatting to everyone afterwards was one of the best parts of the event.
